Review Text

The author has had one really good idea in her life, and she seems determined to keep on writing books about it until people sit up and take notice. Good luck to her. This latest version of her theory, that life in the shallow waters of lakes or seashores played a significant part in human evolution, is the most carefully presented and credibly supported and, although not without its flaws, is certainly well worth considering, given how little we do know about the details of our own origins.
