In the third book of the series, Zak Turner is getting used to the idea of being a wizard, and has spent the summer holidays learning basic magic at Lofthouse Castle with his close friend Tallion Middleham. Having survived a number of life threatening incidents 'at home', the two eleven year old wizards now have to spread their wings and face up to life outside Lofthouse Castle's protective walls. They always expected that attending wizard school would hold some risks, and so it proves to be, but could Netherdale Academy turn out to be just as dangerous? Antares Malchus, the dark wizard, is advancing his plans for a return to paganism, and launches a daring fatal attack, designed to cow the British and Irish wizarding communities into allowing him to pursue his goal of returning at least part of these Isles back to their pagan roots. The Middlehams at first, and then also Zak, find themselves in the dark wizard's sights, and following a series of incidents, suspicions are aroused that a spy may be betraying them to the their enemies. Life at Mhonarr Castle looks set to be every bit as exciting as learning at another magical school you might have read about, but as if the challenge of living with a thousand other student witches and wizards wasn't enough, Zak and Tallion decide to smuggle their best friend Steven into the school at half term, with dramatic results! With an intriguing new theme and a whole raft of new characters, the seeds are sown in book three for many of the encounters and trials ahead of our two wizards. The final chapters give them a sinister glimpse of the very dark world that is arrayed against them... The third second book in the series was supposed to have been 'Double Trouble', but Zak and Tallion had other ideas, so for the second time another book has sneaked in front! I promise that 'Zak Turner - Double Trouble' will be the fourth book of the series, the whole book's already in my head just waiting to be written. With a following wind, it should appear, as if by magic, sometime in January / February.
