Vera and Dr. Bob Farber had always been friends. But Vera's life revolved around her teaching and community work and caring for her husband, Roger, a gentleman who had the first of several incapacitating strokes at age forty-nine. And so it seemed things would remain--until the fates lended a hand, that is, and Vera and Dr. Bob found themselves walking down the aisle, joining their lives together fifteen years after Roger's passing and some seventy-one years after they began their friendship. "We should never cease our search for love, and we must always be open to giving and receiving it," says this wise author in one of the many sterling insights that dot her engaging little book. "The truth is, the so-called golden years are not as golden alone as they are when they are shared with someone you love." To which the reader can only respond by uttering a rapturous Amen, sister!show more
