Are your schools well supplied, with original paintings, color prints, and carbon prints of good quality and with casts? Are your school-houses and grounds beautiful? Are your city and traveling libraries supplied with books on art, and illustrative collections of prints and slides? Do you study art in any measure in your Club? Is your Club interested in more beautiful design in dress for women? This information, when collected and classified, will be part of our state's history, it will be given state-wide publicity, in the public press, that greater interest in art may be aroused; for each locality has some native-craft, famous artist, or scenic beauty spot, to be proud of. If you are young in art matters, this Survey will stimulate interest. It has already, in other sections. This Questionnaire, is in accordance with the suggestions made by the art committee of the General Federation. Without delay the Iowa Clubs have announced that an Art Survey is to be made of Iowa. Already the people have become interested in saving the beautiful wooded banks of the Mississippi, and the lake shores, from reckless neglect.
