The Yam Garden
Chris James is a nightclub performer at The Half Shell, a tourist resort just north of Guiana on the South American coastline, situated on a small island known as Lannas. Chris is Caribbean-handsome - mocha-skinned and articulate - and very popular with the ladies. One night Chris's routine is interrupted by two American couples - one young, the other older and wealthier. The older couple - the Borbons - remind Chris of Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Howell III from Gilligan's Island. But it is the younger couple that fascinates Chris the most. Gina and Gardner Brouchard are brother and sister vacationing in the tropics - and Gina is a smoldering redhead who immediately comes-on to Chris. Obeying professional protocol, Chris keeps his distance, but slowly falls under Gina's spell. That's a problem, because Gina's seduction is not all that innocent - under the guise of just taking a few photographs, Chris is coaxed into piloting the two couples in a small canoe to Varrajvonne - a quarantined island ten miles away from Lannas. This proposition is both illegal and very dangerous. Varrajvonne is - not coincidentally - Chris's former home and now exists, in isolation, as a United Nations protectorate. Or is it all that isolated? One thing is for sure - once they step foot on Varrajvonne's forbidden shoreline everything that can go wrong does.

About Darrell B Cobb
My name is Darrell B. Cobb, an Arizona novelist/composer who writes socially-relevant black comedies. I studied and graduated from one of the top multimedia schools in the world, California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, California. Originally a music major, I ended up studying a wide-variety of instrumental disciplines including trombone, piano, orchestral bass, voice and electronic music before shifting my focus into composition and musical design. My CalArts studies required an emersion in other arts disciplines including theater, photography, graphic arts and dance. And over the course of these studies I developed a passion for creative writing - which I have devoted myself to ever since.. As of January 2015, I have finished ten novels and am working to complete three others. Having a compositional prowess has given me the ability to organize and fully develop the principle elements of writing fiction - character, plot and narrative. My writing has a unique voice and my books are rich in character detail and plot development. My primary targets are Big Business, Big Money and social intolerance. Despite the political winds blowing across this country, I believe that my approach to fiction has a very good chance of finding a large and growing audience. Additionally, each book comes with over an hour of musical backgrounds - or booktracks - designed to enhance and expand upon the e-book experience. Because of my compositional skills, my music can stand alone and separate from the literary attachment. Like my writing, my music is unique and highly listenable even without the corresponding literary component.
