Part II of The Windflower Saga trilogy, a multi-genre action/romance/fantasy epic, "Of Wisdom and Valor" continues the story of the Ansgar family of the Kingdom of Kimbria, the only mixed-race noble family in the entire region of their world. Lady Keridwen, a descendant of King Ansgar and his indigenous wife, the High Chief of the Kimbrii people, Queen Anwen Keholani, is the sole surviving heir to the ducal title still living in Kimbria. Orphaned as a child and raised in a remote convent on the edge the southern Wastelands, she suddenly receives word that the Royal Council, acting as regent while the throne is vacant, has elected her the new queen. The Council directs her to marry the fearsome mercenary warlord, Leofric Longsword, who is sent to fetch her. Taken to his distant castle instead of to the Palace, she comes to learn that the Council had no intention she would ever sit on the throne and that her husband is actually her warden. On one level, "Of Wisdom and Valor" is an adventure and action story that captures the struggle of evil and corruption against goodness, justice, and integrity. From the Golden Age of King Ansgar and his daughter, Queen Keridwen I, for whom Lady Keridwen is named, the Kingdom has descended into a state of poor governance and systemic corruption. Leofric and Keridwen will discover that they share more than they could ever have suspected, and they will find some answers to past tragedies affecting both of their lives. On another level, it is an uplifting story of the transformation of the heart as love heals old wounds and faith that has been lost, is regained.show more
