MOON MEMORIAL LIBRARY AT STANLEY A disastrous fire at Stanley, May 18, destroyed one hundred buildings. The Moon Memorial library was badly damaged, but was saved from total destruction. Loss estimated at $6,000. Chilton. The Hon. S. A. Cook, of Neenah, a former resident of Calumet county, has given $200 to the Chilton Library Association. This organization has raised nearly $1,000 for library purposes and has over 200 members. It is proposed to tender the amount raised to the city authorities upon the appointment of a library board, and the appropriation by the city of $500 for running expenses. Chippewa Falls. By vote of the library board, fines for overdue books have been reduced from 2 cents to 1 cent a day. Delavan. A. H. Allyn, chairman of the Library Commission, has announced that if the citizens will raise $5,000, he will give an equivalent amount. This amount is to be added to the bequest of $10,000 received from the Aram estate. The library Building will be erected on the Barnes' property at the corner of Fourth and Walworth streets. The price to be paid for this property is $4,000. Elkhorn. The local papers have printed a list of out-door books prepared by Miss Edna Derthick, librarian. Evansvillc. The privileges of the library are now open to non-residents upon payment of so cents per annum. Fall River. This hamlet received a traveling library from the v.ommission about four weeks ago. In that time there has been a circulation of 258. An old subscription library, containing about a hundred books, has also been secured.
