This CD-ROM comprises "Who was Who" volumes I-IX, covering the years 1897-1995 and "Who's Who". It contains over 90,000 biographies of those who have shaped history, and are influencing the present and future of Britain and the world, from Victorian times into the 21st century. It combines the biographies of all those, living and deceased, who have appeared in "Who's Who" since the first edition in 1897. For those who have died, the entry given is the last to be printed, but with final additions such as posthumous publications and the date of birth. It includes people from all walks of life - the arts and sciences, business and finance, the church, civil service, education, entertainment, the law, medicine and politics - to reveal a picture of changing social patterns and values among those prominent in public life.
