Review quote

"Doyle's verse text has a satisfying rhythm that sustains lines of various lengths and rhyme schemes, as if demonstrating in its very structure that variety can be harmonious" The Sunday Times "This is a lovely verse story, with a neat ending ... What really sets it apart are Joel Stewart's delightful illustrations" Daily Telegraph "My heart was won over by Malachy Doyle's When a Zeeder Met a Xyder ... Illustrator Joel Stewart delightfully captures this quirky tale of two lonely souls in search of a friend. Doyle's words dance and the story is a joy to read aloud. The rhythm is reminiscent of a Dr. Seuss text ... I echo the Xyder's cry, "whoopy-dee!"'" Irish Times "In this deliciously sweet picture book with its quirky illustrations, young readers will meet a pair of characters whom they will find it hard not to fall in love with. For a time we wonder if they will ever properly 'find' one another but thankfully things work out just as they should" -- Marya Jansen-Gruber Through the Looking Glass "It's fun! It has rhythm and rhyme ... wonderful humour in the written text" Write Away!show more
