A Whale Tooth In Ms. E's Class
"A Whale Tooth in Ms. E's Class" celebrates the triumph of children's imaginations. And a lesson learned by a nervous parent. A first grader took a rock she called "a whale's tooth" to Show and Tell . The author - her mother - was worried she might be humiliated by her classmates. Her teacher asked the class to decide." The class voted: it was a whale's tooth. The students spread the Whale Tooth Campaign to a movement, then to a revolution. Finally, word spread to the ocean where the whale heard the news, and visited the school to reclaim her missing tooth! Full of children's ideas and practical suggestions, including the role of a tooth fairy.
