He sees me question it, but he returns no answering glance. Ah! he does not know the mysteries of that wonderful allegory, or his face would flush and his eye brighten as mine says, "have you read it?" If Mr. Hartwell had only come along, perhaps he could have dropped a word that would have unsealed that beautiful book, and led him to read it.
