About John Rutter

John Rutter was born in London in 1945 and studied music at Clare College, Cambridge. His compositions embrace choral, orchestral, and instrumental music, and he has edited or co-edited various choral anthologies, including four Carols for Choirs volumes with Sir David Willcocks and the Oxford Choral Classics series. Review quote

It is a superbly executed setting, capturing the mood of the text and expressing it economically. It is unmistakably the work of its creator: a masterpiece of its kind and a welcome addition to the repertoire. * Christopher Maxim, CMQ, June 2011 *show more
