The Spirit of the Board of Education in meeting promptly every request of the Government was also the spirit of the teachers and the children in the schools. In addition to their work in the schools and with the children, the teachers rendered valuable assistance in many important wavs outside of school hours. Notable among these was the assistance given to the various Ward Boards in connection with the selective draft.
