About Kara Joy

Kara Joy was born with story ideas in her head; and a piece of paper and pen in her hands. She wrote her first screenplay at the age of 8 and won her first poetry award at 12 years old. She has a passion and a love for telling stories of all kinds: books and scripts. During her undergrad she published two books, Blood Royal and Scars, through Lulu. She participated in NaNoWriMo, as was one of the 2014 winners with her upcoming novel, Vow of Kings. The first book in her Dragon Throne series. Kara Joy holds a MFA in Motion Pictures and Television from Academy of Art University. Where she finished her first official screenplay which her Professor pushed her to turn into a book series. Kara Joy has a passion for all things creative. She loves to write, draw, dream, create, go white water rafting. Though she is known to wear many different hats her creativity has always been the most important to her.show more
