This kind of trimming can be made up in diamonds or squares, points and pipe-rolls; either style, if properly made up. will look well. A neat finish can be made for the front seat by taking a piece of three-ply buckram the required length of the seat on the front edge, cutting it 4% inches wide, and draw a line in the center for one the construction of fall. suit the style of trimming now in use, discarding the stiff fall; we prepare the lace first by getting patterns ready for the end miters, and marking the same on a board suflicient in length to admit the lace and the required length of cloth, making lace to allow six folds, or pleats 3% inches wide. Take the width of seat and cut the cloth circling, so the folds will be more prominent than the top, as the idea will be to have the top part plain and the folds to show at the bottom of the fall. By cutting the cloth circling, you will have the fullness at the bottom for the folds. After the fall is set for putting in, sew the under sides of the folds so they will not separate, or use a stick 1% inches wide, and nail with finishing nails under the folds; this will make the folds more secure, and they will retain their place longer. cutting fall so it will set under the front roll on seat.
