Sally Butcher is the fiery-haired proprietress of the notable Persian food store Persepolis in Peckham, London, which she runs with her Persian husband, Jamshid. She is also a prolific author and blogger, who has amassed a devoted online following for her food-, shop- and Peckham-related musings. The foodie delights of the Middle East are her specialist subject, but she has been known to venture far and wide for inspiration. I took a punt on this cookbook, wondering if it would just be more hommus and falafel...and yes, these recipes feature, but it is much, much more than that. Great recipes, new discoveries and lots of useful supporting information to take your Middle Eastern vegeterian cookery to the next level. Written in a light hearted, but informative and engaging style, there are some gems in here that will definitely make it in to premanent rotation, and many more I'm intrigued to try more
