Quite simply an amazing book! I'm a fresh Vegan living in New Zealand, I often get annoyed reading American books as it doesn't feel relevant to me over here, but this book didn't make me feel this way. It helped to strengthen my resolve as a Vegan and gave me many of the facts I need to be healthy and knowledgeable about animal rights issues! Definitely a book I'll recommend to others! Yes - it is written in the USA. However, before you non-Americans (like me, an Australian) discount it for that reason, unlike a lot of other vegan related texts, this one reaches out on a global scale. The advice isn't exclusive to Americans, nor does it focus solely on what is happening in America relating to animal cruelty and the vegan movement. The thing is, this is a global issue, and the authors realise this. They genuinely want to create a worldwide vegan community. I know, if I wasn't already a vegan, reading this book would make me become one simply because it makes you confront the issues of animal cruelty - and once you open your eyes to it, you can't look away. Nor do you want to. It goes through various issues with becoming vegan and living vegan and also gives various ideas on activism, where to go for vegan products and other texts to read. For a person interested in animal rights and ethical veganism - get this book.show more
