About Philip K Dick

Philip K. Dick (1928-1982) was born in Chicago but lived in California for most of his life. He went to college at Berkeley for a year, ran a record store and had his own classical-music show on a local radio station. He published his first short story, 'Beyond Lies the Wub' in 1952. Among his many fine novels are THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, TIME OUT OF JOINT, DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP? and FLOW MY TEARS, THE POLICEMAN SAID.

Our customer reviews

It's hard to summarize what this book is about. It's about a lot of things. And then some. The way it's written and the themes it works with are so intertwined, like an unsolvable maze of thought, opinions, reality, surreality, persons, time, space, religion, politics, friendship, sanity, insanity, etc... It's only an SF by the stretch of the genre definition. Personally I don't think this book falls into any genre. It's fiction and it's a biography and yet it's neither. It's one of those rare works that exist for themselves. I definitely recommend this book. It's definitely one of the (if not THE) best book I've ever read.show more
