Charlie's the kind of boy that no one notices. Hell, his own mother can't remember his name. So when a mysterious clockwork man tries to kill him in modern day Philadelphia, and they tumble through a hole into 1725 London, Charlie realizes even the laws of time don't take him seriously. Still, this isn't all bad. Who needs school when you can learn about history first hand, like from Ben Franklin himself. And there's this girl... Yvaine... another time traveler. All good. Except for the rules: boys only travel into the past and girls only into the future. And the baggage: Yvaine's got a baby boy and more than her share of ex-boyfriends. Still, even if they screw up history - like accidentally let the founding father be killed - they can just time travel and fix it, right? But the future they return to is nothing like Charlie remembers. To set things right, he and his scrappy new girlfriend will have to race across the centuries, battling murderous machines from the future, jealous lovers, reluctant parents, and time itself.

Our customer reviews

** I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for the book tour. ** “I guess life is more about who you’re with than where – or when – you are.” -Charlie Fantasy, steampunk, historical and science fiction rolled into one, UNTIMED is a fast-paced and action-packed tale that will appeal to readers of all ages. I’m such a sucker for good time travel stories so reading this book was such a fun experience for me. It is enjoyable and exciting. The characters are both funny and clever, even in the most desperate times. I like Charlie’s ability to adapt to different situations, time and places. He wasn’t aware at first of his time traveling abilities but he managed to survive every timeline he was in and made the most out of it. Yvaine was one feisty heroine. I like her guts and sass. She’s smart in her own right and I admired her for making such a big sacrifice. The way she speaks was a bit confusing, though, being a Scottish girl born in the past and all. But it’s easy to understand her language once you get the hang of it. The idea of different timelines is really interesting. It also shows that everything we do may have a large scale effect, even though we may not be aware of it now. The pace of the story is okay. I enjoyed following Charlie and Yvaine through their hops. I especially like the idea that normal people have a hard time recognizing and remembering time travelers. They can’t be photographed or sketched. It’s like the universe is making them anonymous. Very interesting. The ending is also great. There’s a twist in the end that will make you look forward to the next book. Just when you think everything’s already okay, the big surprise smacks you in the face. I was honestly surprised when I got to the ending. Now I’m excited to read more of Charlie’s and Yvaine’s adventures. A great read! Definitely one of a kind. If you’re looking for a different time travel story, UNTIMED is the book for you.show more
