David Morisset is the pen name of an Australian writer who grew up in Riverstone, which was then a meatworks town on Sydney's semi-rural western fringe. This is his latest collection of poems. Some of his verse explores the natural beauty of of the Central Coast of New South Wales, where David now lives and writes. Upon leaving school David Morisset studied economics at the Australian National University in Canberra where some of his early poems were published in university anthologies. Those poems have been lost. After graduating with honours he chose to roam the world, first as a diplomat and later as an economist. Diplomatic postings overseas included Tehran (Iran) and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania). Over recent years David has published several novels as well as short stories and poems. His poem 'Persian Princess' was commended in the John Shaw Neilson Poetry Award (2009 Fellowship of Australian Writers National Literary Awards). His novels include 'Butchers Parade', 'Old Shemiran Road' and 'Dog Acts'.show more
