Finally, we will be asking for a brief update on what steps are being taken by the sec with respect to electronic trading systems, payment for order ﬂow, and soft dollar disclosure rules. I want to thank the distinguished witnesses for joining us today. That com pletes the opening statement of the Chair.
I now recognize the Ranking Minority Member, the gentleman from Texas, Mr. Fields.
Mr. Fields. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. I want to commend you for calling this hearing, and after hearing that we have 5 hours of questioning, I think I am going to yield and put my statement in the record, but I will say, you know, as we have witnessed many times before the subcommittee, we appreciate the effort of many to work on very complex pieces of legislation, helping us to find the right solution.
