Rev. Ulysses G. B. Pierce of Washington, D. C., represented the A. U. A. at the Conference and presided at the Missionary Council. The address of Mr. Pierce on Wed nesday morning and his sermon in the evening on "The Church of To-day" were sources of splendid inspiration to the Conference. The Conference held a Sunday School session, opening with an address on "What is the Sunday School For" by Rev. E. Dean Ellenwood, which was followed by an earnest discussion, which showed that the problem of the Sunday School is still far from being solved in our Unitarian churches. The Conference appointed a special committee to report on the subject at the next meeting-, which is to be held at New Orleans. The Conference closed on Thursday evening with a platform meeting, at which the general topic was "The Unitarian Church as a Working Force." Rev. Marion F. Ham of Dallas, Tex., spoke of the "Influence of Unitarfan Thought in Literature." Rev. W. H. Ramsay of Louisville, spoke of the "Unitarian Ideal in Education." Rev. H. E. Gilchrist spoke on "Unitarianism in Politics." Mr. L. S. Thome of Dallas, made a stirring address on "Unitarian Ideals in Business," and Rev. U. G. B. Pierce closed the meeting with an earnest talk on "Our Share in the Unitarian Mission."
