Description

Excerpt from Twenty-Fifth Annual Report of the American Baptist Board of Foreign Missions: Philadelphia, April, 1839 The church at Hamburg, the past year, has been sheltered under the wings of the Almighty. No root of bitterness has troubled us; uninterrupted peace and harmon have prevailed. The seed sown has been abundantly blessed, and 25 converts have been ad ed to our number, and with the exception of two, have roved faithful to their profession. We have now 75 members, with 25 catechumens, of whom 0 or 12 have experienced the power of divine grace in the heart, and who will shortly be added to us. Let us raise here an Ebenezer to our adorable God. It is now nearly five years when we were first led down into the Elbe, 7 in number, with nothing but contending elements around us, every man's hand being against us. And now this flock is so numerous. Not unto us, 0 Lord, not unto us, but to thy name be the glory. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
