for SATBB unaccompanied Setting an evocative text by Louise Imogen Guiney, this reflective, episodic carol will be a particularly useful addition to the repertory of cathedral choirs. The oft-changing metres perfectly complement the poetic metre of the text, and the rich harmonies and lilting melodies give the carol a sense of poignancy.

Review quote

Reflecting on the part played by animals in the Nativity is Tryste Noel, a poem by Louise Guiney set sensitively to music by Alan Smith. This will be effective when sung by competent choirs. * Julian Elloway, RSCM Sunday by Sunday, September 2017 *
