Description

Your story matters. After hundreds of honest conversations with women from around the world, Susan Sohn has come to understand the pressure women feel to maintain false, glamorized portrayals of themselves. Shame, guilt, and the burden of keeping up with the Jones is blinding women from seeing themselves as God does. Susan dares to begin a dialogue
that matters- one that addresses the unique challenges twenty-first-century women face. True You applies her insight and encourages you to: - Reject the harmful lies society tells you and the lies you've told yourself - Connect and celebrate with women on the same journey to authenticity - Embrace pain and vulnerability as you learn to walk in truth - Get out of your own way and allow freedom to become reality - Know who you are in Christ. Once we allow ourselves to be seen, known, and loved-just as we are-we become free to be who God created us to be. Find the true you and lead a life of authenticity.

Review quote

After countless hours and hundreds of interviews with women all across the world, Susan has woven her own pain, heart, and story into the mix of True You to deliver a potent tapestry of light and shade and the powerful truth that we are more--more than enough because we have a God who is.
- SUSANNA BATEMAN, cofounder of Little Miracles Early Childhood Centres

True You is the call to action every woman needs to hear: Your time is now. You are more than enough. You don't belong on the sidelines. Make a choice to gather with people who celebrate you, not tolerate you. Susan Sohn, through her compelling storytelling, genuinely gives us the courage to face the truth of our lives, to dig deep, and discover a rich inner life. True You is one of the most inspiring books I have ever read!
- WENDY SIMPSON OAM, FAICD, Australian Businesswoman's Hall of Fame, director of World Vision Australia, founding chairman of Springboard Enterprises Australia, and founder of Telstra Australian Business Awards

About Susan Sohn

Writer, speaker, broadcaster and social media personality Susan Sohn was born on the prairies of Canada and found her feet in the business world at an early age. At only 18 years old, Susan and her sister, Katherine, owned and operated Katherine's Maternity, a company they founded together. In 1988 the Prime Minister (of Canada) recognized their company and their achievements, along with other Young Entrepreneurs in Canada. The company they founded won national recognition.

Gripped by a desire for adventure, Susan left her native land and headed overseas. The vibrant, south-east Asian hub of Hong Kong felt like home from the moment she arrived. Through a series of extraordinary opportunities, she learned the ropes of the media industry and rapidly rose through the ranks during her time at News Ltd. to take on the role of South China Morning Post Advertising Manager for Hong Kong's leading English-language magazine. Susan's media career took off and the ensuing years saw her representing 13 USA/Canada titles in Asia (including: The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, The Dallas Morning News, Worth Magazine, Sunrise Magazine, The Globe and Mail just to name a few) while rising to the challenge of Associate Publisher for Expression Magazine American Express Cardmember publication. This period of her life presented Susan with the opportunity to learn from some of the industry's greats.

Hong Kong was home for 10 years, but after much hard work and endless hours of travel, Susan and her husband Philip, who enjoyed a highly successful career in finance, took the decision to retire early. They relocated to Australia with plans to settle down and start a family. Retirement was fun, but inevitably short-lived for a power couple like the Sohns, who could not resist the desire to continue building and investing into the lives of others.

Together, they launched a Sydney-based media company, employing some of Australia's top, young creative minds. Susan was also contracted by an organization to manage the marketing efforts for their three major leadership conferences, which are now recognized as the largest in the southern hemisphere.

With her trademark vision and enthusiasm, Susan has always sought to embrace advancements in media and technology . It was this passion, which drove her to launch her online presence and live events platform in 2005.

Combining solid business acumen with her heart as a wife and mother, Susan pioneered a vibrant online community, celebrating family values and building relationships through thought-provoking conversation, laughter and tears. As an early blogger, Susan built her platform through writing, speaking and ultimately online radio, which has remained her focus for the past three years. She has been featured on TV and radio in Australia and Canada, sharing her belief that the future of connecting with people is via the social web and live events.

A prairie girl with global experience, Susan is a natural motivator and gatherer. Her infectious humor, straight-talking style and love for people can be seen and felt through all her endeavors. She lives to inspire others to look beyond their today and grasp the promise of their tomorrow . Her passion is to see people step into the strong, confident lives they desire. She whole-heartedly believes that you can live the dream.

For Susan, her husband Philip and their three children, Sophia, Gabriel and Ella, that dream right now is a life in Australia, nestled nicely by the sea allowing creativity and vision to continually flow.
