I have the book, I am now in my 60's and learnt more from this book than any other or the sum total of all the healthy food/diet/living books I have ever read in my long life. The science behind the foods is amazing (& true as I have checked). Finally understanding what happens where, why and how, has made it so much easier to understand what to eat when and why and the consequences. Great motivation, great information including the very informative hormone & happy married life sections. God bless these courageous women for making this all available in one handy book. I am giving a copy to every young woman I know to given them the nutritional and specific female anatomy information at the start of their life so they won't have to live in ignorance for as long as I and most of my female friends have had to endure. Had I known all of this before I was diagnosed 'diabetic' I would not have become so - and because of this book I am no longer. Worth every penny!show more

I took some good things away from this book but my need is not weight loss, I am more passionate about healthy living. Although the science behind their plan is good, the out working, using naturally derived but very unnaturally processed sweeteners is not something I am comfortable with making a big part of my life, just like I don't use sugar although it is naturally derived. I'm very wary of xylitol and other sweeteners that upset the gut as the gut is a foundation for good health. This could make a major improvement to your life if you currently are overweight or obese, have no clue about health etc. if looking for something bible based to improve an already "good" diet, start with Rex Russell's 'What the bible says about healthy living" and then move on to 'The Maker's Diet' by Jordan Rubin. THM is VERY protein focused, which I feel is a result of having come from veganism, so it may appeal to those who need to recover from rawfoodist or vegan history. This is a truly fantastic nutrition book - the best I have ever read (and that's a LOT!). Very balanced low GI, controlled carb diet (i.e. you can eat lots of healthy fats and carbs on this diet, just not at the same time). Lots of indulgent and delicious recipes, you will not feel like you are on a diet at all! Frappes, muffin in a mug, cheeseburger pie, choco pudding and lemon mousse...YUM! Written by two Christian homeschooling mothers (there is a chapter on the Bible's view on nutrition, but you can skip that if it's not your thing). Highly recommended for anyone wanting to lose or maintain a healthy weight, keep their blood sugar stable and eliminate unhealthy cravings. Not just for mama's! This is a huge book, but it's easy to read, and well worth the investment - you will not be sorry you bought this book!show more
