The Tri-State Museum Activity and Coloring Book
This coloring and activity book gives a fun and educational introduction to the fascinating history of the Tri-State Area of Western South Dakota, Eastern Wyoming and Southeastern Montana. This area was pivotal in the development of the West, and gave many stories and characters to the era of the Wild West. The book itself is based upon over 5,000 artifacts in the Tri-State Museum in Belle Fourche, SD, including antiques, collectibles, rodeo memorabilia, and fossils, including dinosaur bones. It focuses on the Native American, pioneer, gold rush, ranching and rodeo history, and the paleontology of the area. Included also are suggestions for places of interest to visit in the area. Children and adults alike will enjoy the pictures and information presented in this book.

About Jo Powell
Dr. Jo Powell is an author, illustrator and sculptor from South Dakota. She retired from teaching art for 25 years to the children of American military in Germany, and where she had the opportunity for much worldwide travel. She moved to the Black Hills, where she is enjoying the people, the scenery and the history of this beautiful country. This is her first coloring book, which she feels is a good way to present history in a fun manner for children, as well as adults.
