As to any claim for towage, necessaries (-), or wages (x)--any cause in which the amount claimed does not exceed one hundred and fifty pounds: (3.) As to any claim for damage to cargo, or damage by collision (y)--any cause in which the amount claimed does not exceed three hundred pounds: (4.) Any cause in respect of any such claim or claims as aforesaid, but in which the value of the property saved or the amount claimed is (p) Asamended by S. L. R. Act, 1893 (56 Vict. c.14). (q) These words give the county courts power to order a sale ot the ship free from Incumbrance by the high bailiff, so as to render a plaintiff's lien effectual (The Ruby, 1898 P. 62). (r) Tills extends to the distribution of salvage, although there lias been no original claim in the county court for salvage (The Olannibanta (1876), 3'P.lD. 45; 46 L. J. Ad. 76). A gas float used to buoy a channel Is not the subject of salvage, and a salvage claim cannot be maintained against it under this section (The Gas Float Whittan (No. S), 1897 A. C. 337). (-) Sir Robert Phillimork held, in Tlie Empress (1872), L. R, 3 A. & E. 602; 41 L. J. Ad. 33, that, having regard to the terms of a. of this Act, the Admiralty Court Is not deprived of Jurisdiction merely because tho value of the property salved Is under 1,000. The Herman Wedel (1870), 39 L. J. Ad. 30, was an earlier decision of the same learned judge to the like effect. (O A claim for less than 300 Is within the Jurisdiction of the county court, although the property salved amounts to more than 1,000 In value (The Glannibanta (1876), 2 P. D. 46; 48 L. J. Ad. 75).
