Description

The second edition (published 2016) describes 200 World War II sites in Italy. The sites are grouped into tours that begin in Sicily, where Allied forces landed in July 1943. Subsequent chapters follow the Allied armies into southern Italy, where monuments stand at Salerno, Cassino, and Anzio. The remaining chapters note memorials in central and northern Italy, including those in the mountains, along the Adriatic, or near major cities (Rome, Florence, and Bologna). Described also are monuments to the Italian Resistance. Please see the book's website for more information: travelguidepress.com
