About James Roberts

James Roberts is a British comic book writer best known for his contributions to the Transformers franchise, having worked consistently with the robots in disguise since he co-wrote the 2010 limited series, Last Stand of the Wreckers, with Nick Roche. His first solo story, the two-part "Chaos Theory," appeared in Mike Costa's ongoing Transformers title and explored the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron's relationship. He and Costa co-plotted the series' finale, "Chaos." Roberts is best known, however, for Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye (often abbreviated to MTMTE), the ongoing series that launched in January 2012 and ran for 57 issues, plus annuals and one-shots. He writes the new ongoing series Transformers: Lost Light, which continues the events from his previous series.

Our customer reviews

Some of the most fun, exciting and well thought out sci-fi comics you'll ever read about the crew of a spaceship on a cruade...who just happen to be giant transforming robots. There's mysteries and action galore, but what's amazing about this stories are the character insights and how (some of) the characters develop - tailgate, swerve, cyclonus, chrome dome, even ultra magnus and yes, later on, glimmers of whirl. It's a big cast but they are so well written they each have a distinct personality that goes beyond 'red car robot, blue helicopter robot'.show more

Although I huge fan of Transformers since I was a kid, this series has disappointed me. I didn't even last to the third volume. Boring to death. Too more
