Train Trip is from a one day trip from Prague, Czech Republic to Frankfurt, Germany. The photographs in this collection are less a document of the actual trip-the landscapes, the people, the cities and towns-and more a dream of partial memories, images seen through half-sleep. Traveling at high speed, unable to stop at will, unable to stop to look at the details denies the ability to know and understand a landscape. Reactions and impressions are necessarily about the surface of things, impressions based on a moments encounter. This dreamistic reportage relies on juxtaposition to portray novelty as new but somehow familiar. The scenes are of the everyday, normal things that one would see most any where. The novelty is the opportunity for the viewer to traveling along in a common dream. Train Trip is a dream that anyone could have had and everyone can share.
