Our customer reviews

Baxter manages to use the language of H G Wells and fuse it with his own brilliant, clear and captivating style of writing. The follow up to H G Wells' Time Machine, Baxter takes the intrepid time traveller across time and space. The theme of alternative time lines or a multiverse existence are explored not just into the future, but Baxter takes us to the very start of life on Earth, at least one version of it, through to a world dominated by the intellectual and dominant Morlock species. It all sounds very complicated, and in some ways it is, but Baxter tells a story that helps even a non-scientist like me understand the principles of some complex scientific ideas and theories without dumbing it down. A good starting point if you are new to Baxter's writing, if you enjoyed 'Time', 'Origin', 'Space' or 'Phase Space', you will love this. Highly recommended for any Sci-Fi fan and at this price a real bargain, one to be read again, I'm sure I'll find something new in the next read through having read Space, Time and Origin after reading this one. Simply enjoy, simply brilliant!!show more
