Description

Calling Anna and Bennett's romance long distance is an understatement. She's from 1995 Chicago, and he's a time traveller from 2012 San Francisco. They never should have met, but they did. They fell in love, even though they knew they shouldn't. And they found a way to stay together, against all the odds. It's not perfect, of course. Bennett is forced to skip parts of his own present in order to be with Anna in hers, and he's unable to stay in the past for more than brief periods of time. But they're sure they can make it work, somehow . . . until Bennett witnesses a single event he never should have seen, and certainly never expected to. Will the decisions he makes from that point on cement a future that both Anna and Bennett are desperate to avoid?show more

www.booksforcompany.com In Short - Time After Time pushes many boundaries. - I really grew to like both the main characters even more. - The romance continues to grow and develop. In Long Having adored Time Between Us and being totally swept away in the book I couldnâ??t wait to read Time After Time and hopefully be swept away again. Well I am pleased to tell you that this is a great 2nd book and follow on from Time Between Us. I was left craving more after TBU so was excited to get my next fix of Bennett and Anna and Time Between Us gave me that. Bennett and Annaâ??s relationship continues to grow throughout the book as they get more time together and come across more challenges. I really loved how Bennettâ??s limits were tested throughout the book as he tried to push more time travelling boundaries. I kept thinking 'What if he pushes too far?!'. Throughout the book I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen if Bennett did exactly that and pushed too far. Stone kept me guessing throughout the whole book on where she was going to take things and I couldnâ??t help but just wish things would be a happy ending for them both. I adored their characters so much I felt like they were my friends that I craved for them to just be happy. I really liked getting to read it from Bennettâ??s POV and grew to like him even more, he is really torn between two lives and I really felt for him throughout the book. I honestly don't know what I would do in his situation. Final Thoughts So why 4 stars if I loved it that much? I guess I just felt a tiny bit disappointment when comparing it to Time Between Us. I just wasnâ??t quite as gripped and felt like a big climax kind of died off towards the end.show more

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Disney Book Group, Disney-Hyperion, and Netgalley.) This is the second book in the 'Time Between Us' series, and kicks off a short time after the end of book 1 'Time Between Us'. **Warning - some unavoidable spoilers for book 1 'Time Between Us'.** Anna is back from Mexico, and she can't wait to see Bennett, even though it means him travelling back from 2012 to do it. Bennett is still having issues with his time-travel abilities though, and he doesn't think that he can stay with Anna in 1995 for the school year, instead he's going to have to just come back and visit her every few weeks, even though they both know it will be hard. Can Anna and Bennett continue their long-distance love? Is Bennett really supposed to use his gift to go back in time and save people's lives? And is Bennett being in Anna's life changing it too much? This was a great second book in this series, and it was great to catch up with Bennett and Anna. Anna and Bennett continued to love each other, but were also confused about their relationship in this book. They had the problem that their long-distance relationship was not only over a physical distance, but also a time span of 17 years, which was obviously difficult. Bennett's inability to keep himself in 1995 for more than a few days impacted on them massively, as did Bennett's worries that he was changing Anna's life too much just by being in it. I liked the storyline in this book, and I liked how we once again revisited the topic of 'do-overs' and whether or not Bennett should use his gift to go back in time and help people who may have been injured or killed prematurely. There were quite a lot of questions raised by this that maybe weren't answered fully, but I think that was to be expected taking into consideration the topic of time travel! The romance in this book was really sweet, even considering the restraints on Bennett and Anna's relationship, and I really wanted things to work out for them. It was so sad that they were separated by so much, and that they couldn't be together like a regular couple. I liked the ending to this story and the hope that it contained. I'm not sure if there will be more books in this series but if there are I definitely want to read them! Overall; a great YA time-travel romance. 7.75 out of 10.show more
