Our customer reviews

When I first bought this book it was a couple of years ago and the cover looked much different. Now, Ms. Houck has herself a publisher and the story is much the same, and still fantastic! First off, Kelsey Hayes, the main character, is absolutely one of my most favorite characters in any book. She is a sweet, fun-loving, vulneralble, but also strong, tenacious, and altogether very human and relatable. I found myself, while not always agreeing with her every choice, totally understanding of why Kelsey made them. Ren, the lovable, sometimes incorrigable hero, is soooo swoon-worthy. Seriously. Ms. Houck made him sensitive and charming, yet not lacking in the manliness department. I think what impresses me, also, about this book is that it's grounded in an already existing belief-system but Ms. Houck has obviously done her homework. There is SOOOO much information but it's given in such an interesting way that I found myself wanting to know more about Indian culture. I think that's what a good book does. It leaves you wanting more. Read this book and get ready to want to buy the next!show more

One word, PERFECT. I can honestly say i have no other way to put this amazing debut into words besides just that. If you loved Twilight or love love triangles, then this right here is the best book for you!I read this book the day i got it, i know shame on me i should have savored it more...but i just COULDN'T. Every page just makes you excited for the next page. I live in Clark County in Washington state, which isn't to far from Colleen Houck (whose in Salem, OR) so when i found out she was going to be at the Clackamas Barnes and Noble doing a book signing, i literally screamed. I have been reading almost every debut book that has come out in the past 6 months or so and this takes the cake! You cant help but fall in love with Kelsey! ( or the ever so sexy Ren of course!) When your reading you really feel like you know the characters, which for me personally is a BIG deal, a lot of authors can never really capture characters enough to make you feel like you know them, but Colleen did just that. This is my ALL time favorite book, WAY better then Twilight. CANNOT WAIT FOR TIGERS QUEST !!!!!!! :)show more
