A shattered peace, a manor house burgled, and the butler didn't do it! Can she find the thief before the wrong man gets sent to prison?

Lady Sarah Montgomery Baird Watson-Wentworth never intended to solve crimes, but after her parents' untimely death and her unexpected return to England, she can't seem to escape from mysteries. Even in a sleepy rural manor house on the border of a quaint country village. The perfect escape is destroyed by a break-in, an attack on the butler, and the theft of her father's pocket watch.

Fingers are pointing at the surly, but handsome groundskeeper as the thief, but an unconvinced Lady Sarah is determined to search for the truth, with a local constable to help her in her hunt. Shady characters lurk down every leafy lane, and with someone desperately trying to keep the perilous secret of her parents demise, there is more at risk than her fortune.

Can this clever aristocrat unmask a crook before the criminal silences her for good?
