Lorna Searle has variously been a pharmacist, primary teacher and minister's wife, a job involving many different roles. Born in Arbroath, Angus, she studied in Dundee, and has lived in Surrey, Aberdeenshire, Stirlingshire, County Down, central Edinburgh and the Bahamas, and now lives in Perthshire. She has three grown-up children. There is Another Country is her first novel and was completed at the age of 78.
