I attribute LaLeche League with the success of my nursing experiece back almost 30 years ago! Hadn't an aquaintance shared with me this program I probably would have never had the wonderful 2/12 year nursing experienceI had. It was a whole new world of mother child intimacy and bonding that I had never experienced with my first child, and I am so compelled to share my experiece with others, because its so helpful and supportive in all aspects. From reading the book cover to cover, the meetings and luncheons to the nightly and naptime feedings Im glad to see its been continually revised and Im ordering this to educate myself on the newest ideas and information. Good luck to you all, you will be so glad you didnt give up and stuck with it, its so amazingly worth it for you and especially for your child. The benefits are bar none to any other for of sustenance. One last thing, my baby had no other food other than pure mothers milk until she was 8 months. That says something as she grew well and was very healthy and strong and is so today at age ( almost ) 30! She is well adjusted and throughly loved from birth and on and I believe the nursing experience was the important part of Motherhood for me and other mothers who know the La Leche league way. Thank you and good luck. J. from Minnesota a Great Grandma now, just three days!show more

The information is excellent, given that it published by La Leche League International, an organisation which some would argue (myself included) is a leading authority on breastfeeding. Over the years, I have shared this book (and subsequent editions) with numerous mothers and mothers-to-be and have seen many mothers gain the knowledge and confidence they needed to breastfeed their baby. If breastfeeding is for you and your baby, then this book is a great book to start with. I'm here buying yet another copy, this time for my more

I am 39 wks pregnant and half way through this book. I have bought quite a few parenting books but this is the best by far. Very readable - I am reading it all the way through rather than dipping in and out. It's also got lots and lots more in it other than 'just' breastfeeding. The title does not do it justice at all (and really almost put me off buying it). I would probably say it's a good idea to buy it before you give birth if possible to give you a chance to read it without being sleep deprived. There's quite a lot of info in more
