Description

In The Return of the Sun, Mr Miserly is back to his old tricks. With the help of some bold spiders, he snatches the Sun Spirit and hides her in his mine. As a result it is winter all the year round and the dwarfs work nonstop. It takes the special skill of the Elfin Queen Mother, together with the help of Mr Miserly's cat and all the other creatures of The North Side, to return the Sun Spirit to her home. But will the sun return to her summer position high up in the sky? This is the third book in The Cat Series, written for 6 to 9 year olds. It closes the first cycle of 3 books, which are aimed in particular at children in the 6 and 7 years age-group, with a reading level for 2nd grade = age 7.show more

About Leni Hurley

Though Dutch, I lived in Ireland for most of my adult life. As a trained teacher of ballet, jazz, theater dance and mime I ran the Skerries School of Dance & Mime (in the town of Skerries, North County Dublin, where I lived). My children's stories stem from this period. I loved giving shows, summer and winter, and I wrote everything for these shows myself. Luckily I kept some of the scripts and last year, when I searched for something in the attic, I happened to lay my hands on them. That started the ball rolling. The time was ripe. An earlier book (Mindful Nutrition, based on nutrition following TCM guidelines) was finished, and I was looking for something new to do. The Return of the Sun is the third volume in The Cat Series. It follows on Playalore and To The South Side, which were published in June 2014. Ebook versions of the books are on the way.show more
