AFTER ATTENDING THE GEOFFREY CHAUCER SCHOOL IN CANTERBURY, HE WENT ON TO STUDY MEDICINE AT THE VICTORIA UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER, QUALIFYING AS A DOCTOR IN 1996. HE MOVED TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT WITH HIS FAMILY IN 2011 TO TAKE UP THE POST OF CONSULTANT PATHOLOGIST AT SAINT MARY'S HOSPITAL.JOHN WAS BORN IN SOUTH LONDON AND HIS FAMILY RELOCATED TO HERNE BAY IN KENT DURING HIS FORMATIVE YEARS. HE HAS WORKED IN MANY DIFFERENT AREAS OF EMPLOYMENT, BUT NOW TEACHES ENGLISH IN HELSINKI WHERE HE LIVES WITH HIS FINNISH WIFE AND THEIR TWO CHILDREN.
