Description

Excerpt from The Fourteenth Annual Report of the Finances of the Town of Dorchester: For the Year Ending February 1, 1852
When we re ect that the population of the town is about and that the number of poor in the Alms House, including foreigners, is so small, we feel that we may reasonably congratulate ourselves upon the industry and frugality of our citizens.
The subject of selecting a new site for an Alms House has been under consideration, but no place has yet been selected.
