Description

Tell Me Another is the sequel to The Road to Abbeyshrule which introduced us to Tess, the white witch, storyteller, mentor and philosopher who was adopted by Seamie and his girlfriend Annabel. Together they form a bond that could not be broken as they uncovered the hidden underbelly of their tiny rural village and sought to drag it into the 20th century. Along the way they meet the good, the bad and the ugly that can be found in any village in any part of the world. Tess tries to save the young couple from the undue influence of organised religion, a State enmeshed in such traditional values as well as the powerful passion that rises between the young lovers.show more

About Seamus MAC Aogáin

Seamus Mac Aogain was born into the cradle of storytelling in the award-winning village of Abbeyshrule in the centre of rural Ireland. Old Tess took him under her wing from the start and his storytelling and ability to write short stories was soon spotted by his earlier teacher Tomas O'Duinn who introduced him to the renowned writer John McGahern who in turn brought him to the notice of Seamus Heaney and John Liddy. Each in turn mentored and advised him to stick to his unique style while incorporating that of Brinsley McNamara, Pauric Colum and other greats from the Irish short story genre. His stories sometimes cut to the quick but in doing so they expose the hidden underbelly, hypocrisy and wellbeing of rural life and the way Church and State laws can be utilised to one's advantage while tearing others apart."show more
