Review Text

When hunky television and movie actor Luke Striker goes undercover to Clayton, Indiana, to research the life of a typical high-school student for a movie he's about to star in, Jen Greenley, everyone's best friend and the school's emotional fix-it girl, is considered to be level-headed enough to be let in on the secret. Assigned to be his student guide, Jen teaches the handsome heartthrob all about the mysteries of life in the slow lane, at least until his secret is uncovered, which also has the unintended consequence of making Jen a temporary celebrity. Author Cabot loves telling stories about ordinary girls who are unexpectedly thrust into a spotlight that gives them not only the chance to shine, but also illuminates hidden parts of their personalities. In this instantly engaging, humorous first-person tale, Luke acts as the catalyst to allow Jen, who has always gotten along with everyone at the personal cost of subjugating her feelings about kindness and fair play, to use her personal and social power to make high school a nicer place-and even find love in the process. Great fun. (Fiction. 12+) (Kirkus Reviews)show more

Our customer reviews

It is the first Meg Cabot book I ever read but it is absolutely amazing. You can actually realate to Jen at some points at the story like when she always said things like:"Little Jenny Greenley, everybody's best friend." and i am like:me too ! Thought the plot(the description really) isn't very original-i think i saw a movie alike .When I read the description of the book i thought yehh sure we all know how it is going to end she is gonna marry the tv star and they gonna ride to the sunset and live happily ever after.Isn't it what occure to you right now, right? But i love happily ever after endings so i decided to give it a shot cuz what do i have to lose if I will get bored I will stop reading it ... so that what i did and i really really was amazed cuz it is nothing like i have been expecting yehh it is basiclly a regular teen book about teen love and yada yada yada but she somehow made of this simple plot an incredible story. And to prove that I can tell you that i read it nonstop for 6 hours!! It is a great book for girls who have a crush on a movie star or any other celebrity which we don't have any chance with . The book proves that good things can really happen to nice people and that sometimes your soulmate (i know that i am overreacting but you get what i am trying to say) is waiting for you in the least unsespected place.
