Teaching Children Art
Aiming to teach "art literacy", that is, the ability to understand and apply art concepts in addition to facts and technical skills, this text places emphasis on problem-solving and critical thinking, with particular attention to visual perception and nonverbal thought. It addresses basic literacy in aethestics, art criticism and art history. It also addresses stages of "universal development" and "nonuniversal development" within the context of "graphic development" and "aesthetic development".
