Review quote

The whole is understated and gentle; the dynamic never rises above mp. This could make a very nice introduction to eight-part singing for a choir looking to break the SATB barrier, or a congregation-pleasing addition to the repertory of a choir already at ease with divisi singing. * The Journal of the Association of Anglican Musicians, October 07 * The Chilcott arrangements are alternately engaging, inspired, and ingenious. * Classics Today * This is a lovely setting of Tallis's famous canon. Written for The Sixteen, it is easy to sing . . . Chilcott has not done much to Tallis's theme; the lines are simple and natural to sing, but the overall effect is more than the sum of its parts. If ever there was a piece to give to a choir that is thinking about two-choir repertoire but is a bit nervous about taking the plunge, this is it. * Jonathan Wikeley, Music Teacher, August 08 *show more

About Thomas Tallis

Bob Chilcott has been involved with choral music all his life, first as a Chorister and then a Choral Scholar at King's College, Cambridge. Later, he sang and composed music for 12 years with the King's Singers. His experiences with that group, his passionate commitment to young and amateur choirs, and his profound belief that music can unite people, have inspired him both to compose full-time and, through proactive workshopping, to promote choral music worldwide.show more
