How did you get in? A. We were admitted through the basement door by a man named Chas. Kollman. Q. What did Kollman say to you? Objected to. Allowed. Exception. A. Kollman said, "Who do you want to see?" I answered, '"Dora," and Officer Thiele said "Virginia," and he answered, "All right, boys, go right upstairs." Q. Now, is that all that you recollect of his conversation? A. I haven't got through with it. When we went--he escorted us up into the rear room and told us we could go in and have our choice of those girls. He also, in conversing--Defendant's Counsel: I object to the conversation. Objection overruled. Exception. The Witness: I asked him where Mrs. White was. First off, I asked him where was the boss, and he said, "I am the boss," and I says, "I mean, Mrs. White." He says, "Oh, she is away." Q. Go on. A. And that was while we were getting into the basement door, and then he escorted us to the rear parlor and told us to go in and have our choice of these girls. Q. How many girls were there? A. There were twelve girls there dressed in the regulation--Defendant's counsel objects. Q. Repeat what it was. A. Well, dressed in low neck dresses and sitting around the room. They exposed their breasts, or a largest portion of their breasts, and while sitting around the room some of them kept their feet up in chairs, so that you could see their--By Defendant's Counsel: Q.
