Description

Georgina Kincaid's job sucks. Literally. Love hurts, and no one knows it better than Georgina Kincaid. If she so much as kisses her new boyfriend, she'll drain his life force. Georgina is a succubus - a demon who draws her power from other men's pleasure. Admittedly, the shapeshifting and immortality perks are terrific, and yes, Georgina did choose to join the ranks of hell centuries ago. But it seems completely unfair that a she-demon whose purpose is seduction can't get hot and heavy with the one mortal who knows and accepts her for who she is. It's not just her personal life that's in chaos.Doug, Georgina's co-worker at a local bookstore, has been exhibiting bizarre behavior, and Georgina suspects that something far more demonic than double espressos is at work. She could use help finding out, but Bastien, an irresistibly charming incubus and her best immortal friend, is preoccupied in the suburbs with corrupting an ultra-conservative talk radio star - and giving Georgina some highly distracting come-hither vibes. Georgina is going to have to work solo on this one - and fast because soon, Doug's life won't be the only one on the line...show more

Review quote

"Don't take this book to bed - you'll be up all night. Richelle Mead delivers sexy action and tongue-in-cheek hellish humour - if damnation is this fun sign me up!" -- Lilith Saintcrow, author of THE DEVIL'S RIGHT HAND "Like all great heroines, Georgina Kincaid is an intriguing blend of contradictions; sexy but sweet, an immortal who remembers her humanity, and a girl who knows exactly what she wants in a man and a drink, but who can still lose herself to both. With sharp prose and a powerhouse voice, Richelle Mead took a death grip on my imagination and refused to let go" -- Vicki Pettersson, author of THE SCENT OF SHADOWSshow more

Overall, this was a really great book. There was SO much going on I absolutely loved it!!! I love how Mead writes the story so there is a lot going on in Georgina's life, it makes it easy to keep reading and reading! And the last chapter was so HOT dam!!!!! Just dam, awesome way to finish the book. When I finished it I couldn't stop smiling and I felt like a complete dill! I don't see how Georgina and Seth are going to make it work, Georgina is obviously going to always be a very sexual person, even despite her occupation she needs it socially as well. And though there is more to every relationship, it's still a part of their relationship that is a constant under tone to nearly everything they do. Once again, the characters were just delightful in this book, though we didn't get to see as much of the supernaturals as we did in the last book which sucks because they are so great and I just LOVE reading about them. Again we slightly hear about Carter in this one, but the way Mead writes about it seems like there may be more coming up about his character, perhaps I am just reading into it too much because I love Carter??! I think I may have enjoyed this even more than the first book in the series. I can't wait to see what happens next for Georgie and Seth and the gang!show more
