I found Isaacson's biography seemingly unbiased, straight and truthful. He described the many faces of Steve Jobs, from his brilliance with technology to his blatant arrogance, manipulation, his controlling personality, and compulsive need for perfection. After reading Isaacson's book it does beg the question for me - was Steve Jobs truly one of most innovative creators of our time? or was it his persistent, plausible and charismatic personality that captured his audience, while promoting concepts that were a joint team idea and not just his alone? It is true Steve Jobs was a visionary, which I don't dispute. However, I do feel that many of his staff over the years were not validated for their contributions and were perhaps equally as innovative as Jobs. It is a pity he treated his staff with what I can only describe as contempt in some cases, even claiming some of their ideas as his own. Likewise can be said with some of his business associates and friends. Although some of his methods could be questioned as to their harshness, he was certainly a great motivator in many ways. The book was quoted by Isaacson to have been written with Job's full cooperation, and given many of the opinions and comments by others included in the book did not speak favourably of Jobs, made the book very honest for me. Absolutely one of the best books I have read. If you have any Apple product you will find the story of its inception riveting. I cannot recommend it more highly. The guy was a genuis but as with a lot of these type of people other personality areas more
