Excerpt: ...in all cases where a verdict shall be render-54cents when "ed or the defendant shall be in custody at the time of hear-med' ing the cause, thejustice shall forthwith renderjudgment and enter the same in his docket. In all other cases he shall render judgment and enter the same in his docket within three days after the cause shall have been submitted to him for his decision. Sec. S. If any sum be found in favor ofa party either' Jurisdiction, by a verdict of ajury or upon hearing of the cause before "1"" 9""a justice, exceeding the sum for which a justice is author'-s" &'' ized to give judgment, such party may remit and release the excess and take judgment for the residue. Sec. 9. The execution upon ajudgment rendered by a 93117 1! 6=centsvjustice of the peace may be stayed, in the manner herein-""' after provided, and for the following periods oftime, to be calculated from the date of thejudgment: -., _ First--If thejudgment be for a sum under twenty-five dollars, thirty days.
