Crowned at Belgrade and assumed the government, Aug. 22, 1872; married October 17, 1875, to Friiulein Natalie von Keschko, born 1859. Offspring of the union is a son, Alexander, born Aug. 14, 1876. The present ruler of Servia is the fourth of his dynasty, which was founded by Milos Todorovitsch Obrenovic, leader of the Servians in the war of insurrection to throw off the yoke of Turkey.
