Description

Humorous, heart-warming & inspirational! The Westside Center for the Arts in Port Claire, Washington is home to a cast of lovable, quirky characters and the artistic director who tries to hold her amateur troupe together despite the challenges. Framed by a five-week production of The Pirates of Penzance, "Starring on Bay Street" tells of a group of courageous women who reinvent their lives through a beginning acting class, an elderly actor and his young protege, and the challenges that face director Adrian Williams as she puts the needs of the theater above her own. "Starring on Bay Street" will touch your heart and inspire you to find your inner muse. Jan Peterson Ewen, author of Fractured Fairy Tale Scenes for Student Actors (Meriwether, 2013) and Sci-Fi Scenes and Monster Dreams (Meriwether/Pioneer Drama, 2015) uses her talent for writing dialogue and her years of experience in a grass-roots local theater to create rich characters and humorous scenarios that will keep you flipping the pages.show more
